Roll cage

I'm well impressed with my new roll cage, it will conform with the HKS Drag Series SFI Specification (if optional door bar is fitted) so i'm hoping to run in the competition next year along with the SDS at Shakespeare.

When fitting the single piece cage there's 'NO WELDING' to do, just fix with supplied bolts.

Remove rear seats, recline front seats, or lift out 'new' fixed back seats when fitted and manoeuvre it in then bolt down :)

Fit optional door bar if required.

Take it out when i want to use car on the road :D

Cross bar allows me to fit full racing harness.

Designed and built by UK's leading roll cage manufactors and alot cheaper than i expected it to be :)

I've got a picture of the cage before it was fitted, the car is at the garage awaiting door bar fitment so no pictures of the fitted cage yet :(

Mine's a 4 point fixing with a additional point that fixes the cross members to the rear seat belt anchorage point at the centre of the back seats.

I'm not looking a running below 10 seconds 1/4 mile so this type of cage meets all the safety requirements.

It's been designed and made by 'Custom Cages' they can do options to include front tubes if required.

They are supplying all additional fixing brackets for the different chassis of the mkiv to allow ease of fixing.

Where is the front roof protection then mate? And if you choose to fit the optional door bar, where does it hook onto?

I don't need the front section to meet regs for my class of competition.

The door bar will be fitted to a sleeve thats going to be attached to the down tube, it will then have a floor fixing which will also severve as a front tube fixing if required.

This door bar will be a bolt in section to allow it to be easily removed if required.

This work is being done now as it wasn't fitted on 1st fix, they wanted to try the rear cage first to check it was ok.

I know I'm waking this thread up but I just wondered if anyone knows if there any good? Or only good for show?

That would be refered to as a 'Roll Bar' in the HKS rules and I think its good to 11.5 seconds and around 130mph (you would need to check) Don't really know what he is going on about door bars for as they need to go between the front of a cage and the rear hoop to be effective. I can get cages custom made here but you need to know exactly what the car will be used for as it has to conform exactly, if you want it for show I would not bother it's prob more dangerous than not having one if you do not have proper seats and harness and crash hat etc.;)

I would go somewhere else for one :search:

NOT Customm Cages after the trouble i had following rear end damage to my car whilst in their hands :taped:

But it's your choice :innocent:

The Roll bar was designed and made to meet HKS spec for cars running;

GSR 4:10 ROLL BARS (ET 11.99 to 10.00Secs)

and door bars;

Sidebar must be included on driver's side. The side bar must pass the driver at a point midway between the shoulder and elbow.

Taken from the HKS 2009 rule book
