Well done on deciding to bring it back to life! Mine was in a similar state when I bought it as a fixer-upper. It's come a long way since then. I thought id put a new 'speed dent' in it.... turns out it only slows the car down though... I think its cause it affects the aero-dynamics... ... and I did actually get alot of my parts from Keron lol... i do have all I need to replace everything now.. its just so flippin cold outside and dark when I finish work so I can only work on her at weekends more grr... AlexJames Posted November 26, 2008 Author Share Posted November 26, 2008 good luck with it fella! take it you didnt involve the insurance with this one! ooh i did and i flippin wish I didnt... they royally screwed it up... told me the car was worth 1600 cause it is a old MkIII and has done over 146000 miles... to which i replied... er no.. its a MkIV, its done less than 80,000 and worth alot more than 1600! Then they contacted me saying I owe them £30 for changing my job... which I hadnt.. so i told them that.. to which they did nothing and the bailifs started sending me letters! THEN they wrote and told me I had not declared my wheels and HKS temp guages on the car.. the wheels I had, i didnt realise I needed to tell them about temp guages!... 4 months later i thretened them with legal action and all of a sudden they pulled their finger out!!! funny that... Accelerated out of a corner to hard... my own stupid fault.. speed of impact was 10 - 15mph only... shows what damage can be done when these things get rolling... I have a new bonnet for it with vents in and I will be getting a cheap front kit and fitting it myself..
