thanks for your replys guys

the back of the odo seems fine, i gave that a good check over but then if it just takes 1 bad solder or sumin i maybe had of missed it.

there must be a delimiter on my car but when i checked theres no other wires going to the odo it looks totaly stock. i havent checked behind the speedo tho yet...

paul e - the work that ive done shoudnt cause these lights to come on i did have to resolder the right hand side where the oil light and eng/man lights are as they were broken and wasnt allways coming on. if i need to bring it down paul ill let you know mate... cheers

where should the de-limiter be installed so i can check all the wiring???

thanks

im gonna rip the dash out again and have a good look around...i rekon it must be a loose conection some where as when i first removed that scotch lock it was fine for about a week noow its coming back on....

this is whats weired

1st coupe of times i had the triangle light in rev counter come on with the eng man light

then the next few times after i reset the ecu i only had eng/man light

then i removed the scoth lock and got no codes for about a week

then saturday i got both traingle and eng/man light come on. and the same on sunday and today

i have noticed that the lights seem to come on when im traveling up a hill... and yes all my levels are well toped up

it also come on when i was traveling over 120mph

thanks for your replys

I have the 42 code as well. Car drives fine, only the O/D OFF light is flashing most of the time. A while back, the yellow eng. light would come on during high load/high speed blasts. Car is definitely limited. :( .. (for now).

Which eventually points me to my next couple mods,.. SLD and higher speedo. Any suggestions? I want to keep the car in km/h and kms on the odometer. Also want all the other gadgetry to keep working at high speeds. Cheers.

well i think ive fixed this problem now...

what it was is after removing that scotch lock i just taped it up and was still getting the warning lights on, so i had a closer look and it had cut into the wire and it was only holding together by a few strands so the conection was 2 weak. i cut out the bit that was cut into by the scotch lock thingy and resoldered them back together...

and so far the problem has gone away...

and has for the delimiter i cant find it any where, theres nothing behind the dash all the wires are stock behind there as far as i can c

Check the wires from the speed sensor on the 'box. I had one converted like this . The weather got to it and caused problems

Thanks for the SLD type Matt. Next order of battle, where to order it and will they deliver to an APO (military/U.S. address)? Also, anybody know where I can get a new speedo? Need something in the 300-320 Km/h range. Again, same questions along with costs. Links to sites that have them both will get you a double thumbs up, a thanks, and a beer or six if we ever meet up. Cheers.

Yes, the steering feels light, almost too light, especially at speed. My wife had the yellow engine light the other day at 130kph while passing. It clears when the engine is shut off, but still the code 42 is the only error code. Is the speed sensor bad, and if so, is it easy/cheap to replace? Thanks.

I've never heard of the sensor going bad, it's always been a wiring fault. Either a connection at a plug somewhere is like a wizard's sleeve, or there is a gammy bit of tapping into done for a speed convertor/delimiter/something else.
