Rob Moch
i know its been talked about recently but i thought i had fixed an oil leak from one of the pipes feeding the oil cooler, but now i have replaced the pipes for new ones my question is what is the correct procedure for re-filling the diff and getting the correct amount of oil into the oil cooler. I have identified obviously the filler plugs on the diff but can't work out how the oil gets from there up into the cooler. sorry if this is a stupid question. Branners
These diff cooler pipes do seem to be a problem on the UK specs. Anybody know if the US cars have the same cooler? JB

Andrew Dunk Shaw
Originally posted by Branners These diff cooler pipes do seem to be a problem on the UK specs. Anybody know if the US cars have the same cooler? JB Its only a problem because of where the diff cooler is, in front of the offside rear wheel collecting all the crap the wheel can throw at it !!! A bit of regular cleaning would soon cure the problem, or even a better cover to protect the cooler and feed pipes, as the stock one doesn't do the job properly !! At least if you catch it quickly enough its a dead easy fix, and if it hasnt started leaking then i recomend a bit of preventative maintainance. Matt Harwood
Just out of curiosity, Has anyone ever damaged a diff due to overheating diff oil on a J-spec, (or US spec apparently) ???

carl0s
No, fill to the bottom of the level plug hole, run the pump a for a minute or so, allow to settle for 10 minutes, then top up to bottom of level hole again. How do we run the pump Chris? I thought it started / stopped of its own accord (based on temp). I've just lost about a quarter of a litre of oil out of my 'level plug hole' and it won't take any more oil in.
