SUPRALOOPY
Bit of a funny one this. You start it up and it starts but then dies and will not start again (as if its run out of fuel) But if you give it a sniff of etha it will start after a while and then be fine? I thought it was fuel running back past the one way valves and then sucking air but I believe this would take some time I:E overnight. But this can do it within hours or days. When you plug it in it brings up a glow plug error but I believe this is due to the none start fault and causing this code. Has anybody had any run ins with deisel vectra duratec turbo engines and have any of you come across this before? I will go down the normal channels but I thought I'd ask any way. Thanks Dave:)
absz
Sounds like low fuel pressure delivery the pump is a common fault on them, but you can try and have a look at the injector seals and bleed off pipes to make sure there is no leaks. SUPRALOOPY
I had suspected the pump, but need to be sure before I tell the customer his car is basicly fooked due to cost. Bleeds and seals are my next check. But if the pumps are a common fault then I bet thats what it is! Thanks absxxxx Dave
Kranz
This may not be a great idea, but can you put a low pressure (under 1 bar) feed to the dirty side of the fuel filter to see if the pressure increase cures it??
