Me and my girlfriend are going for a weekend away in a nice hotel (England, nowhere glamorous), for £10 per night (thanks Branners!).

no problem, always happy to let my spare room out.

As for paying for the supra, well mine does about 1000 miles a year so the tyres never wear out, the servicing is mostly just oil changed, the insurance is well cheap and when I take it out I dont boot it any more so spend nothing on petrol. Thats how I afford mine.

Nice sherrifs badge ;) how fitting...

Huh? You sure you did that right? Alt 156 on the Num Pad - always worked for me.

Anyone else wanna try it and confirm?

Well if you're not specific.... and there was me thinking you were making a joke :p Gave you too much credit ;)

Yes it works :)

This new Dell E6400 is a bit wierd, turn NUM LOCK on and you still have to hold down the Fn key to do numbers, guess it's a feature incase you swap back from a full size keyboard or something like that...

It's got those flash illuminating keys too! woot

I'm tempted by one of those to replace my T43p. Do you like it?

There's something seriously amiss with your finances and you need to sort it NOW before you drown in debt.

Service and parts 280

- It shouldn't cost much to just keep a Supra running unless you're really unlucky.

Tax 50

-Road tax, last I checked was £185 a year?

Tel./Inet 50

- Ring and threaten to leave - you'll get it down to £35 a month. I did.

HiFi/Xbox/TV 60

- Is that rental then? 720 a year could buy you all those and have change.

Entertainment 110

- A very modest amount.

Mobilephone 50

- You have a land line. Mobiles are a ridiculous waste of money and you do not need one! Get a PAYG SIM and use it only when absolutely necessary. That's 600 a year wasted IMHO.

Gifts/Christmas 60

- Reduce this. I don't know how big your family is but I'm sure they'll understand if this went down to 45/50 a month. Hey, a tenner does make a difference.

Vacations 325

-Monthly - that sounds like some good holidays.

Health insurance 310

- That is crazy price. Can you negotiate it into your work package. They'll probably sit you down this year and say, sorry - no money for pay rises. That's your opportunity to say about this as a perk instead. It'll cost them very little to add to the company policy (depending on the size of company of course!)

Gym 60

- Buy a bike/set of dumbells/skipping rope.

I knocked this on the head too recently, although mine was only 35 a month. That sounds dear. Local community centres around here offer good equipment for 25 a month.

It's difficult, but you can make a big difference through some small changes.

I did not mean to. But it sure seems most ppl here are high income earners - that would explain the affordability.

Don't know if this is a good idea but what the heck.

Flat 1.050

You can borrow about £240,000 interest only for that in this country. Go back live with your folks, invest in India and Brazil property (rent it for the mortgage payment level) and sell in 5 years time, buy your house oughtright and have cash to get Dimitri to build you a perfectly awesome Supra. :D

Vacations 325

a month? you have too much free time.

Health insurance 310

Is that pounds or pence we are talking lol?

That is £3.200 - small $#@!e add up!

I seriously do not see it possible to own a supra on minimum wage unless you live with your parents.

I think many members use their Supras at weekends etc and run something economical during the week. Considering that in the mid 90's a new supra once hit £42K ish here in the UK, you needed to be in a good state of affairs to buy and run one. With old age they dont get any cheaper. I dont count the cost of mine, if i did i would probably go into deep depression lol.

After reading through this thread i'm tempted to go and buy a second car, just to take down the cost of my petrol. I use my car as an everyday car and i can spend anything from 400 - 500 a month on petrol alone. Fair enough i do the miles but i love the car :)

I had a D620 and that was ok, this is better, but there are some quirks, however I would probably say they are down to it A) being a US spec one and B) built and locked down by my new company.

Keyboard is nice and if you tend to spend time away from the mains the 12cell battery slice is brilliant (if heavy) I can get 8-10hrs out of it from office work with WiFi on. It's very quiet and the screen is clear. (Personally I'd have preferred a higher res one (1200x800 is what it is) but it's adequate for work.

All in all a fully featured business laptop.

I used to do that, and regretted it, it added tons of miles on the car all of which were enjoyable, but a small diesel would have saved me tons of money.

They do a 1440x900 screen on that model, which I could cope with. I'm used to 1400x1050 on my T43p. I just ordered a 15.something" Vostro 1510 for someone with a lovely 1920x1200 screen

I get about 1hr25 out of my Thinkpad's battery, and it was only ever about 2:20 when it was new. I'd just like something that can do hardware virtualisation, run a 64 bit O/S, and have more power than my single core 2.13GHz Pentium-M.

Thanks for the mini review. Still tempted ;) Does it look/feel "professional" and sexy in a business suit sort of way, or is it more boring? The LED screen on the XPS M1330 is amazingly bright, so if the screens in the Latitude E6400 are anything like then I think I'd be impressed.

It looks better than the previous Lattitudes, it's moved towards IBM/Lenovo lines but with nicer materials

I used to be able to afford mine but I was made redundant and as yet I havn't had luck in finding a job...:(

I can't pay my bills and now I am in danger of possibly losing my Supe if I don't find something FAST! :(

Have you thought about selling health insurance? :D
