Morrisons Petrol Price

Not as huge as the drop in crude oil prices though. I know there's more to the pump prices than a barrel of crude, but someone's still coining it in.

Crude peaked at approx $140/barrel IIRC. It's now around $50/barrel.

You also need to remember the dollar was at $2 for a £1

and its now a lot less. however your still right they are raking it in!

The prices have dropped considerably here too.

In the summer months we hit a high of about 1.33 Euro. Today we are paying about 0.94 (about 0.80p) which sounds OK but when you consider the average earnings are way lower than Britain it is still very expensive.

The strange thing is, in Britain I always thought that we paid a huge amount of tax in the cost per litre. If that is the case, then we must be paying similar amounts of tax here too then.

As taken fm Pistonheads.....

EXPERTS PREDICT 83P FUEL BY CHRISTMAS

Morrisons is first to push prices below 90p a litre

Petrol prices could drop by over 10p a litre by Christmas, it has been reported. Due to a drop is the price of crude oil to below $50 a barrel experts now predict that forecourt prices will be considerably lower next month.

Average pump prices yesterday were 94.53p a litre for unleaded and 108.66p for diesel. Supermarket chain Morrisons is now planning to drop its prices below 90p. From this morning unleaded will cost 89.9p at its forecourts and this is likely to force other retailers to slash their prices.

Brendan McLoughlin, the founder of PetrolPrices.com, said: ‘Our calculations suggest that the price of unleaded could fall to 82.9p a litre by Christmas, but don’t underestimate the influence the value of the pound has.

‘Compared to August, the pound has dropped by around 25 per cent against the dollar. If it strengthens we’ll get better value for money when buying oil and pump prices could drop below 75p a litre.’

Ps, tesco in Hull last night when I put £40 in was at 90.9p per ltr.. :D

Getting petrol to Kos is more expensive. In the UK we have the petroleum industry doing its refining etc in house if you like. So the distribution costs are lower. UK petrol is actually the cheaper £ for £ than most others in Europe, it's the tax and duty that make it more expensive...
