supra-ireland
Probably a dumb question but... Can an engine from a manual TT be fitted into an automatic TT without any complications. I'm not talking about converting or anything like that, I just want to know if bar the actual engines in automatics and manuals are 100% swappable. -Cheers
Homer
If you're only refering to the engine itself, they are 100% swapable.
SimonB
They are 100% swappable, but not 100% the same. Well at least the accessories aren't, the actual blocks and heads are. The manual has a different accessory belt tensioner. Plus things like the radiators are different.
Chris Wilson
You will need to remove the gearbox input shaft bearing in the back of the crank. It won't mate up to the torque converter with it in place.
