michael
It's sensible to consider that things like this could happen and to be on your guard at all times but the presentation of them lets the message down, the whole "this really happened" thing is usually the main indicator that it's more of an urban myth. http://www.snopes.com is a good place to check these things out. miko_supra
7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN! The predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 times; and even then, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ. RUN

You wouldn't stand a chance. And that shoulder mounted blaster, that could lock on to you and track you as you ran. If you come across a Predator, you're not gonna have a good day. Damn xenomorphs, etc, etc.
michael
Summary: http://www.snopes.com/crime/prevent/ninetips.asp 9. Another Safety Point: Someone just told me that her friend heard a crying baby on her porch the night before last, and she called the police because it was late and she thought it was weird. The police told her 'Whatever you do, DO NOT open the door.' The lady then said that it sounded like the baby had crawled near a window, and she was worried that it would crawl to the street and get run over. The policeman said, 'We already have a unit on the way, whatever you do, DO NOT open the door.' He told her that they think a serial killer has a baby's cry recorded and uses it to coax women out of their homes thinking that someone dropped off a baby. He said they have not verified it, but have had several calls by women saying that they hear babies' cries outside their doors when they're home alone at night. Please pass this on http://www.snopes.com/crime/warnings/crybaby.asp
Guest Budz86
Tail light? I thought that was an American term, not one used by Northants or the Met police
ilicos
I received this email about 4 years ago now. Seems to be doing the rounds
SteveR
Tail light? I thought that was an American term, not one used by Northants or the Met police No no, it's real. You can tell because the email's title included "NOT A JOKE - ACTUAL SAFETY INFORMATION". The met always pass such information around using viral emails. I'm amazed they haven't uincluded their standard closing/opening lines "pass this to EVERYONE you care about" or similar. How is this sort of blatent cr@p still being passed around ffs!? Thanks for the link Michael, still finding my way round computers. If nothing else, this is a reminder to always lock your car, Even when simply paying for petrol.
