csa
as topic says, can the Apexi Power FC be used to control boost?
tDR
Yes, but you need to buy and install the Apexi boost control module for it - an Apexi boost solenoid with fitting kit. Their solenoids had a bad rep in the past for giving up leading to runaway boost so not sure I'd want to go that route...
Chris Wilson
Had this set up on my GTS-t engine and it worked fine, just remember it needs turning on in the Power FC software menu. If you turn it ON without the controller fitted the engine won't run... Be sure to mount the solenoid so any moisture in the lines can't settle in the solenoid itself. For what it is the kit is expensive, IMO.
csa
thanks guys. just looked at the kit. et seems to be nothing but a rebranded MAC Valve and some wires. Wouldn't it be possible just to buy a regular MAC solenoid valve, and some wires and plugs, and make it my self?
Chris Wilson
Probably, but being an electronics dinosaur I took the easy route. Let us know if you devise a cheaper alternative please
