Thanks Andrew, seeing how much nicer yours looked was the final nail in the coffin for my dash, I know yours isn't black, I did think about doing it a similar colour to yours, but then I thought it just wouldn't match anything else on the car, so went for black. I started to peel the rubber off from around the ashtray area and think I've scored it so will probably need a new panel for that bit, don't think it'll sand up too well.
