Crippled by GT4

I'm sitting here typing with a bout of sciatica right now all because of GT4 GRR! :complain:

Short story is, needed to grab my old PS2 memory card which had fallen behind a chest of drawers in the bedroom. So lumping that about on the weekend has left me aching all down my back and leg! :(

Plus whats worse, is that with the 100k points I got transfering my GT3 moneies to GT4, I went and wasted it all on a crappy AE86 and a stage 3 NA upgrade! Why didnt I go turbo!!

I feel I need your pity, even more so :violin:

Its annoying, I got the car cheap, modded it up and now Im penniless and stuck for entry into new competitions, damn licenses.

I've been concentrating getting the GOLD in each of the tests, I want my supercar early :D

There are some which are SO annoyingly hard to do on a controller tho. Especially the 1 lap following exercises.

My Corolla is 241bhp, but it runs out of steam at 135!

You all start wrong ;)

Get the 100k from the old GT3 memory card

Go to Tuners -> HPA Motorsport -> HPA R32 Golf for ca. 35k (error in the game)

Special condition race -> Capri Rally -> Win both races and get a 265k Rally car to sell

Repeat ;)

ur all sods...i been doing races where i win 1500 loads times....coz i cocked up and sold all but 1 car at one point and couldnt afford to buy another :(

i play online by using peice of software on pc that playstation connects to, software is bit like gamespy / msn . theres bout 50 people on most nights, weekend 100 odd. it tricks the PS2 in LAN play to thinking it on local network even though it over net, but due to pings of bout 50 - 100 instead of

kopite - my thoughts bout u i cannot share on this board , kids might read it :D :p

P.s this software can take almost any ps2 game that has lan play and make it online playable in effect. does xbox, ps2, psp and others

Finished the International B last night with all golds, now starting on the International A. The coffee break tests are getting more tricky, the sodding spirals were pretty hard especially the one in the TVR.

All golds on the National A license netted me the 'Gran Turismo' stickered and tuned skyline, and all golds on the International B got me a Jensen Interceptor, I'm wondering what the International A will offer up.

Cheers,

Sherriff

I stand in awe, I really can't (be arsed?) to get gold in all the tests ! Hats off to ya. Do you use a controller ? Or steering wheel ? And what is it with the coffee break test where you knock over all the cones in a spiral !!! What's the secret to this ? I get really crappy times !!!

However, I'm nearly 20% through the game :p Got quite a garage full of cars too :)

Muffleman, I use the standard dualshock analogue controller with manual gears. I also turn off all the driver assists and traction control options in the main menu's. I was going to buy the Logitech wheel, but the need for 2 new rear tyres for the Supra eat up the steering wheel fund and then some :(

I'm not sure if there's a secret to the spirals, the game seems to be trying to teach the virtues of part throttle and small steering inputs, I often end up watching the demo movies for each test to see where i'm losing time, if you use the in car view you can see the controller inputs which is sometimes helpful.

Good luck :)

Cheers mate, I actually have an old steering wheel in the loft, I got it when GT3 came out. I dashed home like an 8yo school kid, set it up in the lounge, started playing and thought 'what DO I look like !!!' Packed it up and put it in the loft :D

However, I think I may have to break it out again ;)

Boys and their toys eh ?!?

Matt

PS. Supra's going to Dude's shortly for major service, cambelt and new Veilside rear bumpr - I wont be buying a new wheel either !!!
