Dragonball
Visited an old colleague of mine who had the misfortune to work for me many years ago and then eventually set up his own catering company! Through blood sweat and tears he has some lovely new premises in the City and an excellent house champagne - which we have proceeded to sample this afternoon! Some of the stuff he produces - ah...memories! Thought I would just show you - supersize me on this... BTW - anyone looking for caterers - just let me know! Matt Harwood
You philestines. Food is all about presentation No, it's for eating, and stopping you from feeling hungry... Once you've chewed it up, who cares what it looked like!
CJ
No, it's for eating, and stopping you from feeling hungry... Once you've chewed it up, who cares what it looked like! Ah, but with your eyesight, you couldnt see the bloody stuff anyway! Seriously, the eyes do play a big part in eating. How often have you heard the statement, "I wont try that, I don't like the look if it"? I, like you, eat burgers etc but I doubt I would if they looked like they had just been chewed up by someone else (alright, extreme but you get my drift)! It would taste the same(ish) and would fill you up and stop you feeling hungry...but UGH!
MONKEYmark
suppose there a market for posh food like that. us common people just like plain n simple food. the 3rd pic looks like it is on cat litter lol what prices would it cost for the above food in a upmarket place? scooby_doo_do
Going on restaraunts i've been to with the missis Mum and Dad i'm guessing the above would be between £6 - £14 for a starter and £18 - £30 for main course.... And the wine would be over £50 :-)
Supragal
I was gonna say- does he only do starters? Seriously, very artistic
Dragonball
Only the Cod dish (4th along) is main course - all the others are canapes / finger food! The menu is unbelieveable! Matt does have a point - even though he can't see it - after working with this quality most of my catering career I used to enjoy really simple/rustic stuff when back home - although it was usually Meditteranean based Good Olive Oil (and good olive oil is not the 'tescos' shit!)/ Fresh crusty bread Cured meats - Serano ham preferred Roasted Veg with Garlic Hunk of brie or Pamesan / hard cheese Olives Large Glass of Chrdonnay! / Stella! YUM!!

Dragonball
Christ that kind of food portions / presentation and size went out with the ark!

It would taste the same(ish) and would fill you up and stop you feeling hungry...but UGH! Couldn't agree more. I'm actually quite into food - or used to be anyway when I was one half of a DINKY relationship and didn't have a Supra to support. I've eaten at some brilliant places, but I'm no food snob. I was still overjoyed when the Maccy D's vouchers dropped onto the doormat. If it comes down to two almost equal meals, I'd rather eat the less tasty one that looked nicer than the other way around. Maybe I'm just odd...
Paul
Shortly followed bya Burger King on route home as i was starving... LOL. I can appreciate the artistic side of these small portions but what's wrong with cooking a decent plate full of the stuff if it tastes that good? I suppose it ain't as posh and not so much profit in it? I'm sorry but I think it's all b*llocks unless they serve up a reasonable portion after all your paying good money for this stuff.
