grahamc
Anyone going this year? I went last year and it was brilliant, going again this year. This year, I am on the start finish line!! http://www.raceofchampions.com
tbourner
Looks quite good. Surely it's not as exciting as the star in a reasonably priced car leader board though?
grahamc
Looks quite good. Surely it's not as exciting as the star in a reasonably priced car leader board though? There are rumours that the final driver for "F1 Racing GB team" might be the infamous Lewis Hamilton, if MacLaren allow him to do it. Nothing beats star in a reasonably priced car My new 300mm lens and fisheye lens has arrived today, so should be able to get some practise with them, just in time for ROC!! newbiematt
I'm going to this Went to the one in Paris where Heikki beat Schumacher and went absolutely mad! I see the disappointment that is Coulthard is driving for GB again. Reckon the other driver will probably be Button rather than Hamilton!
SteveR
I keep toying with the idea of going to this, but it's a fair treck from here and I don't fancy it for just 2 hours of action. What happens during the daytime, before the main event? http://www.raceofchampions.com/spectators/program edit - what is "The ROC Nations Cup"? Time Event 11.20-12.30 Paddock visit 13.00-13.45 Exhibitions 14.00-16.00 The ROC Nations Cup 16.05-16.55 Exhibitions 17.00-19.00 The Race of Champions

Ace
I went last year, but was two rows from the back of the stadium - still a good view though. This year, I'm about halfway down, somewhere around the start/finish line. Looking forward to someone spinning another Aston Martin a la last year... Last year, schumacher stalled the fiat and heikki (I think it was him) went half way round, caught him on the line, by which time he had started the car and then pasted him on the track!!! Was sheer brilliance!! Button is in team GB, so it cannot be him.

Last years exhibitions were pretty good as well. All the drivers bring there actual race cars and take them round the track, including the F1 cars... lots of donuts burnouts, etc. Its not just the 2 hours at the end.... well worth the trip IMHO. I went last year, but was two rows from the back of the stadium - still a good view though. This year, I'm about halfway down, somewhere around the start/finish line. Looking forward to someone spinning another Aston Martin a la last year... I was 3 rows from the front last time, same again, but on the start/finish line. No astons this time around , ktm xbow looks fun though!!

Ace
No astons this time around Aw man - can still remember the sound of the V8s echoing around Wembley. I seem to remember the Audi R10 TDI "thing" that was the first diesel to win the Le Man 24 hrs? Wasn't that taken around the outside of the track, lighting up the tyres? Astons sounded nice, but difficult to race on that sort of a course. That audi was rather quiet! All the drivers bring their racing cars... Were also a couple of touring cars. Ace
And some of those adrenalin junkies on scrambler bikes too. All good fun. Thought the Colin McRae tribute was particularly touching.

Especially leaving his 555 rally car in the middle for the entire event.

grahamc
It's never fair for us that live up north, I would have to travel 270 miles. In a BPU supra, that should be a reason to go for a drive! The only down side would be stopping for fuel
