miles
so ive been thinking alot lately that id like to change jobs/career (i know not really the time). Im 21 and have ok grades: 10 gcse's 2 B's 7 C's and an F:( and 3 A levels all D's And a C for an extra AS Level i done. I dont know where to start though, id really like to do something hands on either engineering or mechanics but i dont know the best route in? i dont have any qualifications in either although im enthusiastic and would like to think im a fast learner. Am i too old for an apprenticeship? Where could i get my foot in the door to either of these industries? So does anyone have any suggestions to help me on my merry way? cheers guys Miles
bigbloodyturbo
your definately not to old for a modern apprenticeship, maybe try waiting untill spring, lots of graduate and apprenticeship schemes open up around that time as they're looking for school/college leavers. supra_aero
Grades mean f all. Don't let idiots tell you otherwise - sure it definitely helps having top grades but if you are determined to succeed you can almost do anything (so long as your half intelligent )
Snooze
Im 21 and have ok grades: 10 gcse's 2 B's 7 C's and an F:( and 3 A levels all D's And a C for an extra AS Level i done. Was the F for English, perchance? I dont know where to start though, id really like to do something hands on Fluffer? Seriously, tho - with A levels, a good work attitude and a partway decent interview, should be plenty of apprentice-type engineering jobs available at your age. bigbloodyturbo
Grades mean f all. Don't let idiots tell you otherwise wouldn't go that far! grades, especially in engineering are not the most important thing, experience is, but good grades will always get you an interview over someone else who may not have many qualifications, they also show a work ethic and your ability to stick to things.
