New starters after we were sold off as a commercial company only get 25 days. oh yeah, plus all 8(?) bank holidays. They buggered up this year by not giving us enough notice of when thye want to close the site, and as a result have had to give us an extra half day. Pete Posted November 10, 2008 Author Share Posted November 10, 2008 I see the official rules say 4.8 weeks which is 24 paid days of which bank and public holidays in Britain and Northern Ireland can be included in your minimum entitlement. There are 8 bank holidays a year. New Years Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Early May, Spring Bank, Summer Bank, Xmas, Boxing. This is increasing to 5.6 times 1st April 2009 which is 28 days. tbourner Posted November 10, 2008 Share Posted November 10, 2008 25 plus all bank holidays. 5 of them are 'company days' though and for the first time ever they have told us that we HAVE to take our company days over Christmas this year - so plant is shutting down from 24th to 2nd.
