SteveR
Go see if your passenger footwell is damp/wet. The heater matrix lives above that. It's a pig of a job; have a search, there is a how to thread.

gaz1
yes you can be losing fluid through a old perished cap, deffo worth replacing;)
Jamesy W
Very likely. I've had two in 6 months. Also worth checking that you have coolant in your expansion bottle.
JustGav
To be honest chap, it is very classic signs of the matrix about to go bang, seriously, the water system on the supra is very good apart from the two weakness points. A. Heater matrix core B. Top portion of the rad cracks Usually made worse by using an aftermarket rad cap. as above been losing coolent for the past few days now and my car seems to want to steem up all the time any idears thanks lee Edited November 10, 2008 by JustGav (see edit history)

Dazzi
Usually with any car, loss of coolant could be the headgasket.
hadyn
Are you losing coolant from the expansion tank or the rad itself? If it's just emptying the expansion tank, its probably a knackered cap
phat supra
Usually with any car, loss of coolant could be the headgasket. just had the valve stem seals done will new hks head gasket at the same time so dont think it will be that

Tricky-Ricky
Check the pipes that go from the back of the head to the heater matrix, if the head has been off recently;)
Guest pitstopralph
The clue bud, is in the fact that the car wants to steam up all the time, This must mean hot water/steam is inside the car, therefore the matrix is by far the most obvious culprit!
