Cobra Alarm Weirdness

Recommended Posts

I've got a Cobra Alarm installed

When I activate the alarm, the lights flash twice and the doors look - excellent

However, as of today, when I de-activate the arm, the lights flash once = correct, but the doors won't unlock and I have to use the key to get in......

My question is, have I somehow reprogrammed my alarm, or is this a technical issue?

Ok is it possible that it's something to do with the solenoids in my door as opposed to the actual alarm?

Odd, lets hope the drying out process is swift, as I can't be standing in the rain faffing about with locks, in this weather, it does nothing for my hair. :)

sabrina check you have not switched your central locking button inside the car for locking the doors by mistake..

try and play with this button and then try the alarm see what happens..

hmmm I've played with that button, and it's doing similar things, it locks the door, but won't unlock them

is the car uk or jdm? jdm cars need an actuator fitted in the drivers door to activate the central locking , these motors often fail and that causes the locking to fail.

Will it allow the doors to lock but not unlock do you reckon?

It's JDM

I'm wondering if I over did the cleaning fluid at the weekend.....

i will call the alarm guy tomorrow see what he says....

but supras 99% or even 100% of the time have never needed any motors they have always been ok and are not needed ...

Ah that will be excellent?

Can I definitely rule out the - "I've reprogrammed it somehow"?

Sabrina - it's connector inside the door - either got wet or just slightly rusty. It's white with 3 pins inside. I haven't got the picture now, but it's located more or less in the middle of drivers side door. Disconect it, treat it with connector cleaner and it should start working fine again.

As a side note - it have nothing to do with alarm type :)

Mine didn't, I know as I fitted the alarm myself.
