Ewen
To some its CPU performance, to others its body building, sartorial elegance, peak RWHP, post counts, or the state of the world. Pete
I've never given too much credence to benchmark utils. You can tell if your setup is running well just from the feel it and how well it runs on the latest games...and most important how stable it is. Marty
I got around the 15k mark with my e8400 and ultra 8800, that's with a tad of overclocking though. Quad core pc's get a lot higher results than the dual core's on 3dmark. What is in yours?

DamanC
You may want my stockers; 2.66GHZ and 600/900/1500 = 10642 06 is very GFX orientated, I expect its your video card 'bottlenecking'.
Branners
its an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5600+ running a 2.9ghz, 4gb RAM, ATI Radeo 4670 512mb card (nobody seems to have speed tested one of those but its between a Gforce 8600 and 8800 in performance). Running Windows XP Sp3. The machine was bought to a budget so Im not expecting a serious gaming rig, at £400 including VAT and delivery it should give me what I need. I dont have any games yet capable of pushing the graphics so it was really as a guide to see what I could expect. JB

JamesC
Am i doing something wrong, my test results are really low on all my computers? How much would a decent graphics card affect it? My old AMD Athlon 3500+, 1gb ram, 7600gs got 1157. My new Intel Core 2 Quad-Core Q6600, 2gb ram, ATI 3450 (crap card i know) got 1787 - CPU score 3461. Tried it on my laptop Intel 1.86m, 2gb ram, x300 and that only got 211. How come all my scores are REALLY low?? You would think my latest one should at least be average oh, and they all run fine. colsoop
With other 3d marks (not familiar with 06) You can upload your score to their database and then search against other similar spec rigs to see where abouts you are in the great scheme. That score seems pretty reasonable to me though.
Branners
sadly they didnt have a direct comparison of my setup. They didnt list the processor and didnt list the ATI Radeon 4670 in their list of cards. Maybe its too new or just not used by gamers. It looks like its a reasonable mid range graphics card which is what I paid for. SO I think Im happy. I just need to get a decent game on here to try it out.
