Guest mattreading
Hello everyone! I am now the proud owner of a 95reg Supra Import 5 speed non-turbo in white... I have dreamed of owning a Supra for about 10 years now and I have finally taken the plunge and got my wallet (and savings out!). I am used to driving 1.8 Mondeos / Vectras basically any sort of rep car and ohhh my life driving the Supra is like learning to drive all over again... :-D I live in Reading and wondered if there are any members local to me? I got the car for what I think was a bargain price, and whilst I do have all of the MOT's since it was imported in 2001 plus a lot of Jap paperwork I can't even begin to understand..... I don't seam to have any service history :-( The car does seam to run like a dream, but then saying that I have never driven a Supra until now and would really like to get it looked at and serviced by a specialist. The car has an aftermarket exhaust and a massive air filter. As far as I know the car is standard other than that but it really is quick. It seams to go crazy after about 4K revs... is this normal for a non-turbo? When I say crazy I mean it throws you in the back of the seat in every gear after you hit 4k revs..? I am driving it mega slow everywhere until I get it serviced so if anyone has any advice of companies close to me or if anyone would like to do it for me please get in touch.... Thanks in advance for any advice, One very, very happy motorist... Matt Edited November 9, 2008 by mattreading (see edit history)

Think I will replace mine then before they decide to change colour too! Where did you get yours from? Are they tricky to fit? They do look soooo much better
Vicky
lol really!!? Think I will replace mine then before they decide to change colour too! Where did you get yours from? Are they tricky to fit? They do look soooo much better its quite common for the plastic ones to go yellow, you could always refurb yours if they do go yellow rather than buy glass ones. I bought mine from a guy called Steve Manley who works at a toyota dealership, his number can be found here if you type his name in a search, he gives a discount to Pretty easy to fit, just a straight swap i believe, although i didnt do the job myself

Guest mattreading
welcome, nice looking sup u got there, do get someone to give it a good once over for piece of mind, So do u have any plans for her...wheels, bodykit etc Hi there, Yes I will do, asap... I do really need a Supra expert to give it the once over..... any one interested?! I would of course pay some someones time and knowledge... I am still looking at everyones on here for some ideas.. but for now I think it looks stunning standard... I even like the standard wheels... they would be ideal for me if they were 18's! I am going to get new headlights and the brightest bulbs i can find. When i brought the car I only had a quick look in the back just to check the seats etc.. yesterday I flipped the back seats forward and found a JVC amp and Cd changer so happy days!!! I must sound like such a newbie!

Aero-M
, Nice looking supra. Good idea to get a service done if you don't know when it was last done. Thats what i did with mine first, along with new brakes and cambelt. Might as well be the first one to say it, Taking the massive aftermarket airfilter off would be a good idea, they run much better with the standard airbox. stevie_b
Hello! Looks like a very nice example. I too like the stock wheels! I think the NA engine's power band starts at about 4000rpm, so that's probably what you're experiencing. Enjoy!
Sharpie
I live in Reading and wondered if there are any members local to me? Matt Hi Matt and Welcome to the club! I was going to say that you should check out the Reading meet outside Comet/Madejski Stadium McDonald's car park but, it's not shown in our Calendar andymore..... I'm sure it's on the third Tue of each month from ~7pm-9pm. There are plenty of owners in the SE. HTH
stevie_b
I live in Reading and wondered if there are any members local to me? Not as close as the Majedski stadium meet, but the Basingstoke meet is friendly and (often!) well-attended.

juanchan
Yes I will do, asap... I do really need a Supra expert to give it the once over..... any one interested?! I would of course pay some someones time and knowledge... If you fancy getting an oil change/cambelt change at the same time I'd suggest one of the traders on the forum like Paul Whiffin or AFR Tuning. I am still looking at everyones on here for some ideas.. but for now I think it looks stunning standard... I even like the standard wheels... they would be ideal for me if they were 18's! I am going to get new headlights and the brightest bulbs i can find. I'm going back to stock 17s when the rubber on my 18s runs out of tread so I kinda agree with you there Have a search for a decent HID kit if you're after bright lights. I've not fitted a kit to my car but lots of members have and say it's easy to do. , Nice looking supra. Good idea to get a service done if you don't know when it was last done. Thats what i did with mine first, along with new brakes and cambelt. I did the cambelt change along with new front disks/pads soon after I got my Supra. Welcome to the club too
Guest rlchicsdrvstics
Welcome, beautiful Supra! That's most likely just like the one I'll be getting soon. I'm new to the forums too, and I am already learning so much as I'm sure you will too! Cheers, fellow Supra enthusiast!
