Paul Whiffin
I drove an EVO X 360 for the first time today, weren't massively impressed to be honest. Seems exactly the same as the 7/8/9 but with less feel from the steering. I must admit I didn't push it round any bends particularly hard but I was expecting a bit more. I was expecting build quality to be better but it was rattling, gearknox looked like it came straight out of Halfords. Still got the same issues as the older cars like notchy gearbox and boring engine note. I think I preffered my old EVO6!

Paul Whiffin
Probably about the same, completely different driving experience though.
AJI
I am hearing a few similar views from other X owners.... something was lost when they went from the EVO 6 to the EVO 7.... and it still has not returned in the latest EVO X. Not much of an evolution it seems ! Mitsubishi really need to bring back the raw performance feel that they had in the EVO 4,5 and 6.

Paul Whiffin
GTR paul you know it makes sense i have just done 4000 miles on mine and its been all:D:D:D I hear you mate. This was a customers car, I wasn't test driving it for myself, just out bedding some race pads in. I'm looking for a BMW 330D touring sport at the mo, I have my Supra for my kicks! Ark
I test-drove an Evo X 330 a couple of weeks back - nice car, modern, well nailed together, quite quick but not really fast by any stretch of the imagination. As it happened, I came across a guy in a Supra on a dual carriageway during my test...the Evo really struggled to pass it. Definitely not a £40 grand car though. tbourner
Mitsubishi really need to bring back the raw performance feel that they had in the EVO 4,5 and 6. It's the Golf story though isn't it? They can never make it as 'good' as the older cars because of newer safety regulations and pedestrian impact zones and stiffening and all that crap. AJI
Yes I think that will play a big part in it. But saying that, I do think that if the car is to be called an 'evolution' then mitsubishi should be putting more 'things' into it to overcome this safety bollox and thus continually evolving the machine. Paul Whiffin
Just got to look at the latest Impreza, thats suppose to be even worse! Aren't cars suppose to get better as they are developed? Nissan seemed to get it right with all of the Skyline GTR's so it cant be that hard. jaymdee
I am hearing a few similar views from other X owners.... something was lost when they went from the EVO 6 to the EVO 7.... The Evo 6 was the last proper Rally derived version. After that Mitsubishi are trading on the name and it only exists as a road car - probably why some of the purist driving fun has been removed I test-drove an Evo X 330 a couple of weeks back - nice car, modern, well nailed together, quite quick but not really fast by any stretch of the imagination. As it happened, I came across a guy in a Supra on a dual carriageway during my test...the Evo really struggled to pass it. I had a run in with an Evo IX 360. Was absolutely even when both nailed it at vaious points. I was running 1Bar BPU. Driver was shocked I kept up
