OIL PUMP for Drag PHR or SP

Recommended Posts

I Know one problem is the crank seal incorperated in the pump blows out, They use Machine screws to hold the lip of the seal in place!

Also a mod to the spring oil pressure valve and an enlarged Oil return are favourit mods.

Has anybody done this succesfully enough to give me the specs on sizes/shims etc :innocent:

Do you want some self tappers to hold the rad cap on, too? `Cos that sot of thing is a similar crutch to mask other problems.

OK Guys Point taken i will stick with the stock one..Its easier anyways just thought i would need one as many other Drag users do the same. BUT i take advice from those i believe in :ok:

p.s. no mention of self tappers..MACHINE screws but again point taken. If crankcase pressure is up enough to blow the seal then compression must be pants, Thus masking another problem.

Did you change anything else at the same time or just the SP pump?

No just the pump IIRC.

That lasted until we killed the engine at TOTB last year when snapped 4 crank caps.

Then we put another one in with the new engine and still haven't had any problems since.

Gaz.
