Power steering reservoir

Hi,

 

Having read numerous threads, it looks like the power steering reservoir is not rebuildable.

 

If I clean/soak it with carb cleaner, am I able to flush it with water? or will this damage it.

 

What is the correct procdure to flush the reservoir?
