dibbleyuk
Hey everyone, Just wanted to share with you what i have been doing over the last couple of months i left my old job working for a sh*ty printing company that treated there staff terrible didnt see any sign of a payrise. Everytime anything was metioned they would say there is no money in the pot, when all 3 directors drive brand new bentleys! crazy stuff so anyway i desided to go at it on my own. So i have set up "Swiftprint UK" After many thousands of pound later and hours and hours of hard grafting for the last 2 months i opened my doors yesterday and couldnt be happier loving every moment of it already got 6 orders placed One guy wants 10,000 A6 leaflets! that should cover some of my over heads, Its great! AndrewOW
Well done on the brave move in this very difficult field. Print as a trade is reducing all the time, but if your products are good, reasonably priced and you're not greedy, there's no reason why you can't succeed where the 'dinosaurs' have failed. I've been in the printing trade for over 22 years, and I've seen a lot come and go since then, and the businesses that are still there, are the ones that adapt quickly to change, have a good work ethic, and are the best priced. If you've got any decent contacts from your previous job, then it may well be worth trying to get in touch with them. Despite all that I often have 'private' work to get done, and am always on the lookout for quotes etc. What type of print work will you be specialising in? The best of luck
