how_supra
Just curious................. Does anyone on this forum follow World Rally?? Or are you all F1 fanatics????
Whitesupraboy2
yep followed it and i loved the loeb bit 1min slower minus a tyre....impressive....hanging out of car window and getting stopped by the fuzz ... Priceless
how_supra
Yes very exciting. I loved it. I'm not even a Sebastian fan most of the time. Very impressive Every event something dramatic always happens. When Solberg won the title a couple of years back now, it bought a tear to my eye. My dad thinks that the Tour de France is more skill full than driving a Rally Car around stages. I think he's crazy (though I can sort of see where he's coming from). Wish I could do that.............
AJI
I'm more of a WRC fan than F1.... much more exciting to watch. Pity there aren't many more different manufacturers in the top flight of WRC. I'd like to see Toyota get back into it and also the likes of Audi. Much more road cars adopt the technology from WRC rather than F1. SkyJawa
I love World Rally, sooooo much more interesting than F1, and not a case of if you have all the money you'll win. You can stop a boulder being there etc I follow Solberg from my old Scooby days and I think he comes across as a top bloke, was chuffed for him when he won the championship Loeb's defo a class act though, shame Peugoet/Citroen are pulling out after this year
how_supra
Thank you. Yes, defo more exciting!! Probably because you can almost relate to it. Gile Panizzi is a real character as well, love watching him, not necessarily for his driving (though he is the tarmac king - recall the donut moment........), but because he is totally scatty. I do miss the likes of Tommi Mackinen though, doesn't quite feel the same, somehow. I'm not liking the ITV coverage either - they constantly compare it to F1.........it's nothing like F1 Does anyone know if Richard Burns has recovered yet or if he will ever return?? What's everyones favourite event? Mine is Finland, keep meaning to make the effort and actually go to a Rally event, Finland would be fab - so fast. He's doing ok, IIRC he had stopped the treatment and was trying to fight his way back to fitness, it will still be a while until he can WRC again, if at all I do like the opening Rally in Monte Carlo, purely coz they can never pick the right setup due to the changing surfaces - usually always makes for an unpredictable and exciting rally
