GeordieSteve
Ok so yesterday wasn't much better either... we had Samson castrated yesterday (yes yes we're b@stards etc.). Today he chewed his stitches open and Jacq rushed him to the vets. They muzzled the poor little sod and told her "this is in case he goes nuts cos this is really going to hurt". They then held him up.. no sedative or pain killers... then STAPLED his knackers back together Bless him he never made a sound, no crying growling, signs of aggression or anything. Braver than me... if I was there I'd have bit the vet myself!

snake
That reminds me of the joke about the two dogs in the vets. They were in for jumping up onto their female owners and rutting. As the dogs were chatting to each other, they find out they are in the vets for the same reason, but one dog was in to be castrated and the other to have his nails cut. Kranz
My dog won't let the vet near him. In the vet's own words "I don't get paid danger money!" lol
Max Headroom
My little dog tries to bite the vet everytime! Only because every time he goes there he has a thermomitor shoved up his bottom!!! O_o
GeordieSteve
Why no pain killers? Guessing because it was short notice and he was rushed in. SURELY this isn't common practice! Poor little sod lol
Havard
Braver than me... if I was there I'd have bit the vet myself! Sounds like you need castrating then Steve..... Sorry to hear about your doggy...... I had to get our dog to the vets yesterday as he'd chewed a big hole in his own side over night. Looks like he's either picked up a skin infection at the kennels while we were away last week or...........get this......he's got excema brought on by stress..... Either way he is now got steroid cream that I have to apply twice a day with rubber gloves and he's on anti-biotics. Woke up yesterday and all was fine by lunch time I was at the vets and I had been raped for £50.... I hate vets!! H.

Ours has been to a local kennels for the last few years without any problems, he went to another one once and came back stained with his own pi$$...... Never again!! I'll be giving it some serious consideration in future where he goes though!! H.
GeordieSteve
wow that IS bad! We normally get someone to live in the house when we're away to look after the dog. He very rarely goes into the kennels
