I think Tannhauser is the cleverest person on this forum.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but not by a long chalk. Digsy - now there's a bright guy. Or Ian C.

Brian (Soop Dog) is good on this sort of stuff, too.

I'd put Chilli on there too, but I can't afford to give too much credit to my 'opponents' ;)

Agree here too. Him and Stephen Fry are the only two dead certs on my Fantasy Dinner Party list!

F88king hell, I guarantee that you're the only person who has ever put me on a fantasy dinner guest list.

Right,

This is all very nice guys, and thank you, but once and for all let's get this straight.

My academic background is a bit odd, because my background is Biology/Animal Behaviour/Psychology, but I became much more interested in Literature, History and Music. Therefore, I've got a broad education, because I'm interested in a lot of things and I read a lot. Also, I think I write pretty well, and that's partly because it takes me a long time.

BUT...

None of those things are to do with cleverness. There are programmer guys on here, for example, that are much, much brighter than I am. When I was 18, I failed the aptitude test to get onto a basic programming course. And there are certain things I know nothing about. Engines, for example - I've failed to grasp the most basic ideas in the many moons I've been on here.

I *seem* to be more educated than I am, because after all, this is a car forum, not a politics/religion/philosophy/ethics/history forum. Without being patronising, most people on here don't have so much experience in those areas. Put me on a politics forum, for example, and I'm a joke.

And that's the last I'm saying on the subject. :)

Wrong! They are all things to do with cleverness. The programmer guys and mechanics etc are clever in their chosen field, just like I am 'clever' in mine. Cleverness IMO is being able to learn quickly, form an opinion and articulate that opinion - especially if it's on a subject you're not familiar with - which is something you do very well.

Yes he is very generous in his posts, its like sitting in front of a banquet everytime he posts.

But anyway, thoses guys from ironaddicts that he quoted, intresting. Doom and gloom and negativity. Too much time in the gym? And getting in line with sheep. Interesting also that obama is so skinny and sexily successful, maybe just put their muscle world out of kilter (to have power you need some muscle - even schwarzengger joked that about obama right?).

I wanna be like obama (a bit).

I'd always thought you were a pretty clever bloke, Cliff. But like hog said, cleverness is about your ability to learn, that's why I get annoyed at people in education who say "What will I ever need to know this for", it's nothing to do with what you need to know (well it is, but bear with me), it's to do with proving you can take in information on a particular subject and remember it, the proof of this being the exam; those with the best marks are the better at learning that particular field.

I've always thought I was pretty good at learning things, I seem to know a lot of useless stuff though and people are always asking where I heard that (my problem is the way it sits in my head and I have strange views about subjective stuff!).

Anyway, some of you should have a look on airgunbbs.com, there are some fapping clever guys on there!!
