ok .. ive tried searching and not come up with anything that helps so thought id ask ..

im trying to find a map of the boost pipes in a jspec supe .. after putting new turbo's on im only getting 0.5 bar and no more ... must have put a pipe back in wrong so i need to know where they all go so i can check the instalation .. in particular the pipes at the front that come and go from the turbos and actuators and top metal pipes ..

any help much appreciated

regards

ok looks like all the hoses are in place .. the only one im not sure about is the barb at the top of the first turbo and the actuator ... does my greddy profec boost controler take a line off each of these into its control box? ive been out for a run with all teh hoses checked against the thread given and the car seems to be pulling all the way through the rev range however it is stil only attaining 0.5 bar ... how would i check my acctuators and vsv's? or is there anything else it could be?

try running it ttc and see if that helps, if this works then it is bound to be either 2 of the vsv's or the actuators,

here's the link to the ttc instructions

http://mkiv.supras.org.nz/articles/andy.htm

the first time you do this it's a little tricky as the pipes you need to change arn't that easy to see.

Find the egcv actuator and follow the line to the vsv, take this off, and the hose that is on the other part of the vsv needs to then go to the actuator. you might need some extra hosing as it is a stretch.

the iacv hoses should be pretty simple to do.

if this works then change back to sequential mode and rev the car in neutral, the iacv should operate from i'm guessing 2-3k and should fully open and stay open till the revs die down, rev again and watch the egcv actuator at 4k+ this should open up to and hold for a little while.

if neither of these are working then it is likely the vsv's are busted, they only take a little time to change and I know tha Ian C is selling some if you want to contact him.

give us an update!

ps if ttc does work then change back as this is much safer for the turbo's

also when you take the small hose off the iacv vsv it should hiss(another check as your pressure tank could be bad)

another thing check that all the plug connecters to the vsv's are connected!

i cant see teh actuators moving and dont get a hiss when taking pipes off ,,,, does this sound like a faulty pressure tank? if so how hard is it to replace?

It's one of those jobs that easy but a right bitch due to the location of the pressure tank. like changing the oil filter but 10 times worse

Yeah that's what I've heard about the pressure tank, does look like bitch to get to!

Craig, give us a call when you can, don't really wanna try this in the dark:)

stil at work bud with teh car at home .. wont be at home til late .. iyl bring it into work with me and give u a call tmro

not much I would have thought, there should definately be pressure there, even if I've left my car for a few days it still holds pressure.

tbh I don't think its that, normally the symptom of a bad pressure tank is when you drop down gears in the 2nd turbo's rev range and flooring it, basically if the 2nd doesnt kick in straight away but does a few seconds later then it's the pressure tank.

Yeah just call anytime tommorow, that'll be fine, it could be something really simple to fix.

how come you have new turbo's on the car? are you 100% that everything was ok on them?

ok, after doing a run do you get a hissing noise when taking the a pipe of either of the 2 vsv's? if you still dont then it could well be the pressure tank, but I just have a feeling it's something else, have you tried running without your boost controller connected?
