I must have missed that. In all seriousness though I agree with hamster and yourself, it is just mental.
jamesmark
The Veyron could only manage 5th fastest car 1:18.3. Moving on ....... The Zonda was gorgeous.
Scoboblio
That Veyron lap was boring boring boring! I still love it for being such an amazing combination of speed, comfort and engineering though.

michael
The Zonda was gorgeous. Even if it was ugly and made that noise I'd still want it, the fact that it's stunning to look at and works just adds to the appeal. 2wneFoXU2w4
RiceRocket
My all time favourite car at last, gorgeous in every way (IMO). Gotta agree with you there, looks even better in motion than those pics you keep posting up. The Veyron could only manage 5th fastest car 1:18.3. Moving on ....... Lesson learned- Weight is very bad for going around corners. Still rather take the Bugatti for a blast down to the Med *we need a dream smiley* To be honest mate, you didn't really miss much, it was a bit of a dull one I thought... What...! You weren't riveted by the Economy Race

RedM
I rather enjoyed the economy race. Interesting to see how much further a car will go on when 'empty'. Love the Zonda too. My other half has okayed buying one when we win the Lottery.

gordy07
The economy race didnt do it for me. And the veyron was not done justice tonight,it is a truly stunning bit of automotive engineering. I liked the carbon pagini though
RedM
And the veyron was not done justice tonight,it is a truly stunning bit of automotive engineering. Explain please. Do you feel that they should have just kept going until they got the fastest time in it? It was beaten by a less powerful but much lighter car arguably more suited to the TG track. It's nothing to cry about.
jamesmark
Even after tonight I still love the Veyron, the TG test track is not going to change my opinion on it. The Zonda is just stunning in all aspects. The TG race tonight was very entertaining tonight. James May as usual was hilarious.
RiceRocket
Love the Zonda too. My other half has okayed buying one when we win the Lottery. Better start playing the EuroMillions instead then cos our Lotto jackpots aren't that big anymore in relation to Zonda-esque purchases
RedM
Better start playing the EuroMillions instead then cos our Lotto jackpots aren't that big anymore in relation to Zonda-esque purchases I wasn't being serious but your advice has been duly noted. Swampy442
The Zonda is still number 1 in my wanted list, what a machine
SilverSoop
I cant believe the price though, £800k?!?!? I would be pretty upset after spending out all that cash and then have a smoking engine! The Veyron is around that £800k figure too...
ivan
The long wait is nearly over, the Stig does a power lap in the Bugatti Veyron for this Sunday's episode. Will its torque be superior to the Gumpert's handling....? Does he indeed? On the TG website it says he goes really fast in a Pagani Zonda F. I see you were both right in the end though. plus1
After watching it again I thought the Veyron could have gone faster. Reason... The stig must have been told to take it steady around the track because he did not clip a single corner and was a mile from the tyre wall when he went past it. All the other super cars he has driven he has cut the apex of every corner and moved the tyre wall with the pressure wave created. Probably the owner said, " one scratch and you'll pay! "
marc_p
I never thought the Bugatti would be that quick around the track to be honest, it just seems to big and clumsy for a track car.
michael
After watching it again I thought the Veyron could have gone faster. Maybe you should offer to take it round and show them how it's done.

It was beaten by a less powerful but much lighter car arguably more suited to the TG track. It's nothing to cry about. Well the Veyron beat the Zonda in a straight line, so it's obviously more powerful, but the Zonda's lighter weight meant it could corner better. Both amazing cars which both have there strong points and weaknesses. I cant believe the price though, £800k?!?!? £825k wasn't it? My girlfriend commented you could buy about 6 houses for that!
