bignum
I invested into 1 of these about 6 years ago and actually made some money, lots of people had bad experiences though(not due to me), so i doubt pyramids will catch on for a long time yet. bignum
Amazing. As I'm- one part deluded & 2 parts greedy- I usually play the lottery myself. Sometimes the Euromillions on a Friday- 75m to 1. But I usually wait till we're talking 30-40 million jackpot, before I lose my £1.50 If I won, I'd definatley buy everyone on this forum a half This guy defo had something up his sleeve,
tony1
I have heard about pyramid schemas many times before, but unfortunately one of my mates is involved in one at the moment and we have all warned him about what could happen but he likes to call it 'Multi Level Marketing' not a pyramid scheme. Jake
it's been calculated by bored number-crunchers that you're more likely to have an aeroplane crash into your home 11 times (presumably not the same plane!) than win the jackpot. Think about it, if that were true how come there's hundreds of people that have won the lottery over the years and no people that have had their home hit by a plane even twice? Funnily enough the owner of that house won the lottery a week later!* *That's an obvious lie, but I thought it had to be done.

Ah, you've got me on that one! I think the "11 times" thing is a bit dodgy to be honest: I wouldn't have thought anyone in the history of the world has ever had their home crashed into 11 times by an aeroplane. I got the quote from Derren Brown's book Tricks of the Mind, but I may well have mis-quoted it from memory. The point I was making still stands though. The chances of someone, anyone winning the lottery is pretty high. It'll probably happen this Saturday. The chances of you personally winning are very, very small. Some simple maths I've just done myself: if you played one line a week, you'd have to play for 270,000 years before you'd "expect" to get one jackpot win. At most, people have probably got about 70 years' worth of lottery-playing in them. Of course, I'm only talking about the jackpot here. Other lesser prizes sweeten the deal somewhat.
