Paul
I got pulled a few mths ago in Hemel, at the end of my road. Motorway copper, was OK about it and gave me a producer and rectification notice but no fine. You get used to the full size plate in the end and I'm happier knowing that they can't touch me for it now and not having to sit miles behind a police car in case they notice the plate. RedSZ
Join the club Cashpoint! I have managed to drive around with no front plate for two months before getting pulled twice in last three days. Car looks crap with plate blocking intercooler and messing up the C-West bumper . Sodding MOT centre wanted £5 just to stamp the sodding police paperwork too Are the police having some kind of nationwide crackdown or are we just unlucky? cashpoint
Got till Monday, till I have to put it on. At least he didn't give me any form of producer, rectification notice or fine. just told me i had to change the plate. Really doesn't suite the car now. Green Peace
Mines kind of 3/4 size and in a type font which is unusual but readable. But i have never been pulled for it touch wood...I think you can get away with a certain amount, its like my window tints they are very dark but not exactly limo-tint...they will only pull you if they want to be really picky... If its one of those number plates thats kind of 3 inches long I aint surprised he he! i wonder what the french police make of it...or wether they enforce a similiar law...I? shaf
i find cops need any excuse to pull so car and number plates is one of the easily identifiable reasons as well as window tints.... which is why i have neither
Stevie Boy
Your not wrong Shaf, thats why i've got no tints but i will get some eventually, just a light smoke maybe. My mates Skylines pretty much dark smoke/limo black and a 4"front number plate thin font, hes always getting pulled but just goes down the MOT with vehicle defect form and a standard plate on, and puts his pecker on after, he takes the pi$$. I try not to be so baltent,i've got a square rear plate filling the JDM void with STD-ish maybe slightly smaller size new legal style font, front plate is bout 3/4 size still standard legal font and trimmed down compared to your average plate, think a copper would have to get his tape measure out to confirm it wasn't legal size lettering but i'd say it was difficult to tell, but it looks a damn site better than Standard plate, i am right in thinking the law doesn't state how large your white/yellow plate area has to be except for a certain amount surrounding the lettering? Terminator
I got feed up being pulled and given notices. So I got another bigger but not full size plate. The old ssmall one is underneath. So far no problem. We have really dark tints on another car but because it is not a sports car they are not bothered.
