Chris Wilson
It's all but impossible for this to be *successfully* done at home as to check the seals a full dismantle is required, and after dismantling it would be madness NOT to renew the seals and bearings and probably the shaft. Once renewed the assembly needs dynamic balancing, and assuming that you managed to get the thing stripped, sourced the repair parts and reassembled without drama (unlikely...), you won't have access to the air driven baancer required. No balance and the life of the unit is dramatically reduced. Just send the units to a Turbo Technics agent for rebuilding. A cheap rebuild is normally a bad rebuild, (re ground shaft with oversize bearing bushes, instead of a new shaft with stock size bushes, bead blasted wheels, often die ground up to remove dings, instead of new ones, blah blah. You get exactly what you pay for with turbo rebuilds, in my experience.
