mawby
Anyone had any recent dealings with them? I've ordered some tyres from them and, having authorised payment on my credit card, they now want me to fax them a gas/electric bill for proof of address. Is this common place? We refer to your tyre order. Because of data security rules we need a proof of identity from our customers to ensure a high level of fraud prevention. So, please fax your last electricity bill / gas bill for address confirmation purposes to the following fax number: 01212103330 I also didn't like their response to my suggestion that they should provide online stock availability checking... Dear Mr. Mawby, With regard to the points you made concerning your order: It would be good to see stock availability online we would like to inform you of the following: Please contact us on 08003286532 and we will be glad to inform you on the availability of the tyres. So they asked for any suggestions I had, I gave one, they then tell my online stock availability checking is already available..... by using the telephone. Wez
Have you asked them to deliver somewhere which isnt the cards bill address?
bolarbag
I've used them many of times, their usually very good, i.e. order at 4.10 one day, delivered next morning, their delivery charge went up slightly but their still cheaper than the rest I tried using their site once, got annoyed and just called them, its far quicker

Konrad
Quite strange really, even if it would be con, tires would get to cardholders address heh. For a future reference I can vouch for this company: http://www.event-tyres.co.uk/ Done quite a few deals with them, they deliver and change tires at your place and accept payment AFTER all is done (by cash or card). benkei
I've used them before and was impressed with the price and the quick delivery. Never got asked ot verify my address or anything though. Maybe they have recently introduced this for extra security?
Scoboblio
I think mytyres is a German run company (or somewhere else in Europe), so English probably isn't their first language.... might explain the strange nature of their emails. It was English lads I spoke to on the phone though, I'm sure they have various bases in the U.K
mawby
I've replied the their email stating I don't have a fax machine nor do I have any gas or electric bills I can fax anyway (it's all online billing) so I've said I can email them a bill if they want. Just waiting for a reply now. I'm a little annoyed because I told them on Friday I wanted these tyres ASAP (when I used the online stock checking tool..... an email) so this just adds another days delay to my order. CardiffSupra
Iv had a few tyres off them, I remember waiting a month for 2 tyres and they didn't charge my card untill the day they were deliverd
RedM
I never had any trouble with them and never needed to fax a bill either. FWIW it got to the point that paying someone to fit them negated any saving.
The Restorer
They took a couple a weeks once when I ordered towards the end of the year. Have used them or camskill in the past, although Camskill failed to deliver the correct tyres. Have heard good things about event tyres from one of the M boards I'm on too. mawby
So I sent the requested document on Monday, and having heard nothing by Wednesday I sent an email to ask what was happening with my order. Having heard nothing still I've sent another email stating if they don't respond to me today I'll go elsewhere.
mawby
Well at least I got a reply to that one! Thank you very much for your e-mail. We would like to inform you that your order has been processed but the warehouse did not provide us with a delivery date yet. We shall get in touch with the warehouse and ask them to provide us with a delivery date. We are very sorry for the inconveniences. Thank you very much for your understanding.
