Turning TRAC off permanently

What is the SOL and what is the MTR?

Can I pull one/both and will that result in getting the TRAC system turned off on my J-Spec? Will it leave any side effects?

Your trac light will flash constantly if you just pull the fuse. I just hit the button to turn it off instinctively every time I start the car. Doesn't bother me.

Thought I was told that pulling the fuse (which one ?) gave quicker times when on a drag strip ?

trac light doesn't flash if you remove the fuse, it just stays illuminated, its the o/d light that has a slow flash but as i cant see it with my turbo timer in the way it doesn't bother me.

Nah myth IMO. On an auto the trac also smooths out the gear changes, even when disabled in the cabin. Pulling the fuse makes gear shifts more aggressive and might result in a faster time.

dont know whether this guy is auto or manual but disabling the track on an stock auto box will make for a harsher gear change and could lead to premature failure of the box

i just removed the trac ecu... :p

Cant figure where it is...

Manual going by his garage.

Yep, 6sp

If the only side effect will be a constant light in the TRAC button, I'll just disable that as well.

Whats the MTR and the SOL? And which one should be removed?

No, the ABS is a completely seperate ECU

I guess you mean 'no it doesn't stop working' ;)

Reason I asked that is because although it's a separate ECU, the two communicate and there's an error code for that communication going 'wrong'. But if it doesn't think that disconnected is 'wrong' then that's cool, thanks :)
