Flashing Overdrive Light

Recommended Posts

My overdrive light flashes periodically. Sometimes not at all and then it will have a constant on off flashing. Turn the engine off and it will reset. I saw in a previous thread that it might be the kph-mph converter chip. For what relevance this has to the flashing overdrive light I don't know. But the poster said it sorted the problem. Question .... Anyone had any experience of this problem and where the hell is the kph-mph converter chip. Thanks guys......

:) :sos:

The convertor is usually installed behind the clocks as it intercepts the signal from the speed sensor before it gets to the speedo, from there it goes to the odo and then to the ECU.

If your speedo is working fine and your odo is clocking up fine, then it could be that the connection wire to the ECU that isn't right.
