SimonT
I understand that the car is rear wheel drive so you need good tyres on the back but surely the front is just as important as pants tyres on the front wont exactly help your stopping distances?? Chris Wilson
Absolute classic text book example of being run with very low tyre pressures. Not a fault of the tyres as such.
SilverSoop
I run 36psi front and 34psi rear Oh right, thanks... I bet get pumping then... Im going to pump my front tyres to 35 psi, as my rear's are at that psi anyway... chris burford
Absolute classic text book example of being run with very low tyre pressures. Not a fault of the tyres as such. Agree absolutely! Regardless of how cheap or how expensive they are if there of correct speed rating and carry all relevant safety standards/tests for this country and being sold in this country then they should be up to the job. They should deffinitely not be expected to fail in that way this is the cause of low pressure and the tyre overheating USER ERROR. keener
Even though you clearly ran them at too low pressure it might be worth taking them back to who ever fitted them to see if they'll replace them for you at no cost. Both faults could be manufacturing faults on cheapo tyres? Worth an ask anyway!
GlennK
I have run 4 Khumos (235 front, 255 rear x18) new from March this year at 36 psi (but now weather is getting worse set them down to 34 psi) all round. Grip is good, wear is minor - plenty of life in them yet!
Stonkin
When i purchased by bmw, it had fullrun tyres on the back. Even if the ground was very slightly damp you could pop the backend out on roundabouts with ease. I had an issue of a funny whining noise at 30 - 35 mph and decided to take it to the tyre place to check it over and do tracking etc. When they removed one of the rear tyres, there was a slash 1/2 inch deep on the inside of the tyre wall, which went at least halfway round the tyre! michelin sports were fitted, the nosie went away and you had to seriously give it some to lose any grip. Fully run away from fullrun's
RiceRocket
Don't the fronts have to be at a higher pressure because of the engine's weight?
Guigsy
I remember Funrun tyres being arround a lot last year... They were quickly dubbed "ditch finders" if i remember correctly Oh, and this aswell Edited October 24, 2008 by Guigsy (see edit history)
garethr
Can't speak for Fullrun, but I've run Kumhos on my GS for 60,000 plus miles with no problems. They may not provide ultimate grip, but they don't just fall apart. The damage to that rear tyre does look like the result of an impact. Marty
You get fullrun tyres if you buy these off ebay and ask for the tyres included, an extra £300 for the set. Absolutley the worst tyres i've ever experienced, utter crap, traction was terrible even with a slightly damp road, and thats with hardly no throttle pressed, very dangerous tyres. I didn't have these on my car, a friend, sxysup, had them on hers. The ebay bloke should be shot for supplying such sh*te

tDR
Falken FK-452's for the win! No other tyre comes close for price vs. performance (and reliability!) IMO.

ufop
I think I was lucky as I had and still have on falkens front and back 17's running at 35 or 36psi all round and then have been pretty good. I would buy them again :-)
