Blackbirds dont or cant do high G turns, the suits are just for the altitude (80 odd thousand feet) Eurofighter pilots have the advanced anti g suits at the mo, where even the boots inflate to keep the blood up in the body.

On the project, its impressive, odd choice of powerplants though, the EJ200

The human body can take upto 12 'G' before getting 'G lock' and blacking out...

 

Im not sure how much G Force that this machine can pull or will create...

 

Just for those interested, it's more like 8Gs (that a human body can endure) even with a G-suit. Without the suit, blackout would normally occur at about 5s after a few seconds. Modern ejector seats expose pilots to well over 12Gs, but only for a very short duration. The older ejector seats used to expose pilots to around 20, causing such spinal compression that they ended up shorter!

coincidently, I was talking to a harrier pilot last weekend that told be the same about the spinal compression with the older seats.

He said if a pilot ejected twice (or was it 3 times) he could be kicked out the RAF as the spinal pressure was seriously dangerous.

 

Mind you, If you ditch 3 jets your not exactly Top Gun material

I have to disagree.

 

I have seen a pilot in the human centrifuge test endure 12 'G's for 12 seconds in order that the Pilot could fly the Jet that he was trained to fly...

 

The F16 Fighter for example; student Pilots have to endure 9 'G's in the centrifuge for 12 seconds in order to fly that type of Fighter...

 

Mainly all the other types of Fighters, the student Pilots have to reach a minimum of 6'G's in the human centrifuge for 15 seconds...

Its only going forward unlike a fighter jet.

 

I bet it doesnt get much more than 4/5gs.

 

The SR71 flys at around 3.3 / 3.5 mach (mach being aprox 761.18 mph at sea level)

2664.13 mph

 

Still 4 to 5 'G's is alot - and the person driving that high speed vehicle will be subject to negative 'G's until the brakes are applied, then it is totally the opposite...

G-LOC (G-Loss Of Conciousness) is caused by the g-forces stopping blood getting to the brain. To do this the plane has to be in a turn, so the force is acting through the body from head to foot.

 

Astronauts don't have to wear g-suits because for blast off they lay on their backs, so the g-force has no effect on the circulation of blood from heart to brain. Turn that on its side and you have the same effect as a nutter driving a rocket car from rest to 1000mph. The acceleration force is horizontal, but the driver is vertical, so again the g-force has no effect on blood circulation.

 

Unless he pulls a massive wheelie. :)
