for the letter 'a' then: 17,640,000,000

Right, let's back on topic for Chr!st's sake.

Now who's got a nice picture of a bendy bus?

I did do a search for 'a', got about 16,000,000,000, but figured my other posts would be better :)

Arse to busses, bendy or otherwise, I vote for pictures of Sups or Chicks, bendy or otherwise :)

Not sure about Dawkins but I think the Humanists have got it spot on.

Seems their only "rule" is "treat everybody like you would like to be treated" or something like that.

If you follow that, you don't need any other rules / commandments etc.

Not heard of any Humanists cutting people heads off, blowing people up, etc etc.

This leads you into all sorts of problems. There are many things which you presumably regard as fact, which you can't verify using your own senses: the existence of atoms, for example. So you can't verify atoms as fact any more or less than God (or gods). Alternatively, you could say that the existence of atoms is only a belief, just as much as a belief in God.

OK, but scientists can verify the existence of atoms, right? But now you're no further forward, because you're still accepting second-hand information that you can't directly verify. If you say 'the scientist has a proof, but I can't see it for myself', then that's an article of faith as much as trusting a priest.

But surely the word of a priest is third hand at best? It's got to be at least 99% of priests who don't claim to have spoken to god (or God, I suppose). Hearing someone who has actually done research and found something out and 'proven' it is more believable to me than someone saying they happen to believe in something that they read, written by someone who thinks they knew a person that might have spoken to god!!

I suspect the Muslims will get offended and then the adverts will be pulled.

*cue a sharp intake of breath*

:innocent:

michael has a point though. Granted, only extremist people will get highly offended enough to kick up a fuss about it, but they will all the same unfortunately.

Seems like crazy idea.. bendy buses suck!

plus isnt atheism based on the fact that God doesn't exist? soo wouldnt that mean they do beleive in God...so they cant beleive.. work that paradox out! crazy bar-stewards!

Isn't atheism the choice or descision that you don't belive in any kind of God? You'd see it as a fact that no gods exist, so how does that make you belive in one? The point is that you don't...

And bendy buses... How are they legal? Or a sane invention for that matter?! You can imagine if someone went to the Dragon's Den with an idea for bendy buses... I don't think they'd walk away with their pride, let alone an investment! :D
