Peter Connelly
How do we know when the IC is actually f*cked and no longer useful? What will be the worst case scenario if I leave replacing it until it's too late? What do I look out for except broken fins? I'm sure mine is due to be replaced, but I'd like to hold on for as long as possible. Peter
THOR Racing
Come June I'll have a nice graphical unit to display the intercooler efficiency. Part of my new range of graphical devices on show at the Japanese Extravaganza at Billing. Regards Pete

Peter If the finning is crumbly when poked with a pen or screwdriver, and either falls as oxide dust or the fins just come away from the tubes, it's knackered. The efficiency is depnedent on a good bonding between fins and tubes and fins having a none oxidised construction. Bent to buggery fins or an I/C clogged with mud, dead insects or leaves is also no use. I see a LOT of I/C's that are falling apert nowadays, they seem to be reaching "that age".
