Yokohama Parada Spec-2 Tyres

I had these on my Rover coupe in a bid to get some front wheel traction.

They were an improvement over the Falcon 451's but not enough to get the 404BHP down on the road properly...

I found them a little better on cornering but a bit soft for my liking.

If you drive hard, you wont get much life out of them.

I would imagine on the Supra they would give pretty good grip although as stated they wont last as long as something like the Bridgestone potenza.

I've ordered a set for my daily driver, much less power than your Rover had so hopefully they should be OK but I had heard that they don't last very long if you are hard on them.

They seem pretty cheap though, I've bought mine from a local tyre place for £50 a corner fitted for 195/50/15s, if I'd had the time to wait I could have had a set of 4 from eBay for £130 and the seller even offered free fitting if you went to collect them.

I must admit I was swayed by the looks though, I feel dirty as a result :(

A colleague has them on his 850 T5-R, he's got a full coilover set up and drives like a loon and is standing to get less than 1000 miles out of the front set. He rates them better for grip in the dry on the front than Eagle F1's, but not sure in the wet yet.

They're standing up to abuse better than the F1's so far, the car is so fast round bends that he managed to roll the nearside tyre on to it's wall and scrub off the writing..

Mmm, I'd better start saving for some new fronts now then :)

I have them on, they look pretty but I haven't done enough miles to scrub them in properly yet so can't really compare with the old tyres until then.

I just thought they might be a good compromise between a normal tyre like an F1 and an R888.

I think that's a fair assumption, they're more aimed toward track-day or fast road than the F1's but still retaining some wet weather composure unlike the R888's. Probably not quite as soft as the R888's either.

What's it going on?

The T5-R is about 280bhp and has a 5-cylinder turbo lump sitting right over the front wheels. Lardy car too..

Have these on my Integra, Michael.

Stiffer side wall than the F1's which is a good thing on the teg. 1000 miles a set is just stupid though...even a set of R888's should get three times that and these will be harder wearing.

I've probably done about 10k since putting mine on and there's still some tread left.

I quite like them, great grip in the dry but can be a bit hairy in the wet sometimes.

Hope you like :)

Quick update - they are scrubbed in and I've had chance to have a hoon around in the dry, very impressed! On the old P6000's the car could break traction in corners and had a bit of a desire to understeer unless you provoked the back end a little, now it just keeps gripping and gripping. I'm still not sure how well they would work on a powerful Supra but they are certainly worth a look for a daily driver.
