little num
hey folks i was at suprapod the other day and saw some dash surrounds and gear panels done in carbon fibre dipping, to be honest it was a silver car like mine and looked bloody good, i have had a price from nic but was wondering is there's any1 in the uk who does this or is it just an abroad thing. Gaz6002
What is carbon fibre dipping? CF isn't a liquid!
JustGav
I had something similar to this which was a film you laid on the water and then dipped the panel in order to get a CF style look. Managed to do a lightswitch and few other bits and pieces, attempted to do a dash panel and it just went horribly wrong.

ivan
I saw a demo of this at Japfest a few years ago. The results looked a lot better than the stick-on stuff. The bloke made it look easy but I expect it takes a lot of practise and wasted film to get good at it.
TrickTT
Not seen carbon dipping in the uk, but i've heard of camoflage dipping on guns so i'm sure its possible. You just need to find the right ink film.

little num
What is carbon fibre dipping? CF isn't a liquid! yeh the real cf is layers i think, this stuff ive seen is a coating that sits on water or fluid and you put the item you wish to change in it and it sticks to it, but if done wrong can look terrible, the price from nic was around £250 with postage there and back, but if there is a company in the UK then should save alot on airmail. I wouldn't mind trying it with some smaller things.

Pretty sure it isn't CF but rather just a film that gives the look, this stuff ends up like gelatin after a while.

Tee from China
What is carbon fibre dipping? CF isn't a liquid! Dead right Gaz6002 I think the process is called wrapping and not dipping You can get your panels dipped in CF look by water transfer process though
