Need your help guys

Here's the background:

I work as a childcare worker with children (teenagers!) with emotional and behavioural problems. We have one girl, who is very pretty but she absconds from the house and hitch hikes into the local town, often in vans with 2 males and she will often speak to strangers. She has no concept of her personal safety.

Here is what I need help with:

I am looking for articles about young girls who are killed by strangers, who hitchhike or go missing after a night out. If you could post the link up for me that would be great.

Thank you guys

How old is she?

Have you tried Googling it?

Also Steven Kings The Hitchhiker is quite a good film, put me off ever picking up a hitchhiker.

I have, I thought it would be easier if I could get some of the guys on here looking as I know that quite a few come up with random stuff ;) she is 16, we have a duty of care to keep her safe, but at 16 we are a bit limited as to what we can for her. We cant lock her in her room and we cannot restrain her

Take her to somewhere like Broadmore for the day?

Are scare tactics the right way to deal with the issue? At that age kids are likely to do exactly what you DON't want them to do just because they're awkward! Not that I was ever like that, personally:innocent:

Can you find out for her what public transport links are available, can you not buy her a bus pass or maybe assist her in finding some local friends that she can travel together with, rather than on her own?

How about contacting the local station for a friendly WPC to have a chat with her?

Her sister is in a home like that!

Introduce her to Ed

Not at all helpful

At this point, yes!!

Public transport is very poor here in Herefordshire and the friends she has nade are not even close to the one's you would take home to meet mum and dad, due to the type of people that you have to deal with. Drug, alcohol, prostitution are common place for these guys.

She has had several chats with the police and others
