What a total whatsit I am.... :(

I am back on track with my Skyline engine build, and decided to fettle the professionally ported, at great expense, brand new head casting. It was all done to a stunning standard, except for blending the exhaust ports to the turbo manifold. I hadn't decided whether to run a single or stay with twins, so asked him to leave a bit of meat around the port to manifold interface. I have now decided twins with their lesser lag V HP capability, plus the total reliability of stock manifolds is the way to go. So there I am, die grinder in hand, head solidly mounted, gasket outline scribed on the manifold face, and just a millimetre or so of alloy to blend. Port 5, and the carbide cutter comes out of the chuck and scores the manifold face about 15 thou deep... I had checked the tightness of the tool hadn't I? Had I *uggery, just picked it up, saw the right tool was in it from God knows when, and started using it.

Off to Bolton early tomorrow, I can't trust myself to mill the face back perfect, as I am pretty ropey on my mill, so am paying a pro machinist to do it, rather than do more harm. What a *illock I am, I decided I need humiliating so I am posting about it here ;)
