TRACIE_LOU
The tyre sizes you posted up sound similar to the Bridgestone Potenzas I've got on my Supra. Not cheap, but they grip a lot better than the Kuhmo Ecstas and unknown make that were on it when I bought it! i had the potenzas on the civic and they were fantastic gonna price these up i think
toyotasupra1980
check yor tires mate and that the suspension is ok, i have never had an issue with my supra when it was n/a even when it was standard. I have TOYO TS R1s soft compound on mine, i dont do that much driving. 245 at the front 275 at the rear never had a problem. TRACIE_LOU
done a quick call eagle f1 for the rear £173 but they cant match the tread patern for the front is this a problem ?
JustGav
Cheap rubber is only good for one thing...sliding... I had a spare set of kak rubber and put them on the NA for a laugh one day, absolute handful... as the diff would react it would just slip the tyres and it was a case of catching the slap. A decent set will give that confidence back, but I'm not saying anything that hasn't already been said
imi
just got back from having all my wheels re aligned and it has made one hell of a difference! of all the places i tried a Ford main dealer came to the rescue and done a dodgey cash in hand deal for £20:) is that 4 wheel alignment? if not, then that is what you need to do. bigbloodyturbo
while we're on the subject do any of you guys use standard specs for your 4wheel laser alignment with 19" wheels or is it adviseable to change the specs a little or will the guy that is adjusting everything know how to set it up with the bigger wheels? Sounds about right. I paid a few quid over £500 for all 4 corners for Potenzas, but that was at mates rates from a friend who can get them cheaply. He undercut the online places I tried by about £50 for the set
Jamesy W
I never really understood the difference in tyres tbh. It wasn't till I nearly killed myself on the motorway, going in a straight line under the speed limit, that I realised that the cheap ones are exactly that for a reason. I had put two new Fullrun tyres on the back to get me through the mot. I never drove the car till a few weeks later, and when I got back behind the wheel I found that any confidence I had was out the window. I eventually put a set of 19's with Avons on and the difference is night and day.

JamesC
Try mytyres to see what their prices are like. People normally go for 5mm less profile on the back than the front due to it being a percentage of the width. There's also a lot more choice of 265/35/18 than 265/40/18 so it might be cheaper
Ewen
might go with dunlops only thing is tread pattern not the same front and back is that a problem ? Not sure what you mean....different versions of F1 front and back, or different makes of tyres front and back ? Never heard of Dunlop F1's....do you mean Goodyear F1's ? If you are buying F1's all round the treads should be the same, unless you are getting say, the older F1 GS-D3s for the back and the newer F1 asymmetrical on the front or vice versa. Either way, ideally they would be the same tyres all round but personally I dont think it makes much difference...the quality is the main thing. Camskill.co.uk are a good supplier if you can find someone to fit them for you.. Goodyear assymetric F1's 235/40/18 - £119 each 265/35/18 - £151 each TBH though i'd see Chris first, if he thinks things in general are ok with the car then get them, if not it 'may' be that the tweaks he goes on to make, make the current tyres bearable for you and the misses? TRACIE_LOU
not sure he just said tread patern was different but i think i will go with the dunlops has he said the bridgestones where hard compound and might be tricky in the wet:)
