Help please transmission problem box or diff?

i drive the supe down to bognor at the weekend and all was fine down there and back, but tonight when i took the supe out i get a loud clunk sound from the box or diff when the car is changing up gear and it jerks the whole car really bad and its happening all the time constantly. its an auto tt, do you think the box has had its day or the diff or would low level of fluid do this

Have a look at the uj's at the front and middle, [look for any rust dust, this is normally a clue that the rollers have broken up] grab the prop either side and twist them agaist each other. Have a look at the centre bearing and hanger, have a real good look at the rear rubber, it should be solid with no splits.

I reckon the way you describe the vibration if it's in the prop it will be fairly obvious.

right its defo not prop or diff because when the supe is stationary parked on the drive with your foot on the brake and then you change gear from park down through R and D it knocks really loud without the car moving so its got to be box, tc or gear box mounts what do you think
