I appreciate this is now a mourning thread for Empire / Jake but from the start of Feb Costco are doing the TH46PZ80B for £770.49 inc VAT and a 5 year warranty, £200 off their usual price.

How much is it to join Costco these days?

Edit:

Bugger, you need to present a costco voucher to get it at that price :(

~£25 for 2 cards.

The stores have the vouchers as you walk in at the moment, I suspect a new member would also get a set when they join up.

Cheers Michael, will pop down there later.

I hear the meddling EU are trying to ban some Plasma TVs that consume too much power - labelling them the "4x4 of the living room".

The power consumption info for the TH-46PZ80B is:

Power Consumption (W)

Rated - 470.0

Assumptive Actual Use (Wh) - 387.0

Standby without DVB Tuner Lock On - 0.4

Anyone here think thats a high consumption?

The top Three TV's you should only choose

Panasonic PZ800

Pioneer PDP-LX5090

Pioneer KRP-500

I choose the PDP-LX5090 due to price,Black levels, looks and connectivity

Basically look at these 3 and choose based on what you need but for me Pioneer has the best picture, found myself glaring at it for 10 mins without realising :)

No Real Diff between the PDP-LX5090 + KRP-500 just KRP-500 is slimmer with an external medai box for input connections (Good if you plan on mounting to a wall)
