Picasso troubles

Hi people,

my sister has a Y-reg 1.6ltr Citroen Picasso as her daily driver and she is having problems with it.

The car is generally very good and runs very well but sometimes it cuts out on her while she is driving and then refuses to start again for around 30 mins. The car is trying to turn over but its just not jumping into life.

When we leave it for 30mins or so and try to start it again it usually fires first time and then is fine for another few days. I thought it could be an over-fueling problem and the engine going into some sort of cut-out or safe mode but usually i would have expected to have smelled the fumes of petrol or a bit of a back fire.

If there is anyone on here that can help then please leave a suggestion as its baffled me :)

I had this problem on a renault 19 16v. Tried loads of things but finally got it fixed by changing the chankshaft timing sensor. Was about £30 from memory.

When it got warm it used to cut out and then once it cooled down (30mins or so) it used to start again and then cut out once warm again
