fri3ndly
However they have offered me max £6500 for her which is quite good. I can buy it back from Salvage at £1950. Just wondering if its worth it and how much parts of my car could be sold here for? tooquicktostop
Sorry to hear that, I would buy it back and sell the bits, the engine alone should be worth £1000
michael
You wanted to sell for £6500, they have offered £6500... seems like an easy way to move on. If you have the skill / time / space to break it you should be able to get your money back but it might take a while to flog all the little bits once things like the engine have gone. Ric
id just use the cash and buy another one if you really want a supra, seems silly to buy back somthing which you know will cost a lot to do, and hassle of breaking
marc_p
I'd be tempted in the bumper, interior and coilovers. So if you don't buy it back, let us know where it's gone.
fri3ndly
I do want another Supra but I am looking for a car I can take to work every day now and still enjoy driving a bit, so will probably get an RX8 or Civic Type R I think I will just take the money, I would probably make a grand or so, but the hassle might not make it worth the while and plus seeing bits of my beloved car dissapearing probably wouldnt make me feel that great! tooquicktostop
I know breaking it would be hard to do to your pride and joy but you do have some nice parts on your car, full cream leather, ICE, engine etc, offer them £1500 and see what happens

I reckon there's about £2.5k's worth of damage there, buy it back and repair it.
jamesmark
I do want another Supra but I am looking for a car I can take to work every day now and still enjoy driving a bit, so will probably get an RX8 or Civic Type R I would go for the Type R then as the RX8 is a bit thirsty on the fuel consumption, probably no better than a TT. Or and I am biased, a S14a 200sx my one (spec in Sig) still returns me 30mpg and if I drive carefully 35mpg, decent boot space and is still RWD. And for £6500 you will be able to pick up a mint one for that or a good one for half your budget. miko_supra
if you are going to break it im interested in the facelift rear lights.
3LL
Deffo buy it back and repair it.. thats not actually that bad if its only the quarter and superficial damage, get the chassis checked out to see if its twisted though. PS, if you break it, ill have some parts off it me thinks

Lukeyboy2k
If I were you I'd take the money and walk away. I don't think you'll make enough from selling bits to make it worth while. Sorry to hear about your situation.

stupra
Sorry to hear that buddy . Have a good think about buying it back and breaking it, unless you have alot of spare time and the space to do it, it could turn out to be PITA. If it were me i'd take the money and get the car I was going to get after i'd sold the Supra.
extendor
What about consider buy back and see what someone on here will offer you for the complete car to break up themselves. You may be lucky and do a deal that sees you a bit better off. Word of warning - get a proper agreement first so you dont get lumbered with the car! Guest CoolsBlue
buy it back, still got the front end untouched?
fri3ndly
Front end is undamaged. I am leaning towards taking the money, if someone wants to buy the car to break up themselves then Im open to offers
JamieP
Offer them a £1000 for it and break it.
fri3ndly
Offer them a £1000 for it and break it. I dont think they would take that, also the savlvage company wuld probably see they could make some money on it. Is it realistic to think someone would buy it for £2500 to break/repair themselves? Lukeyboy2k
Is it realistic to think someone would buy it for £2500 to break/repair themselves? No - not unless they're insane.
turbonut
Well hun, seems your pretty much decided deep down. To be honest, I don't think many of us could face having to personally break their own supra if worse came to worse.....unless your a mechanic you probably would get your money back and maybe a bit more but..... It would be easier to let go and move on, keep all the money to get a decent car. If you bought it back you would have less to spend on its replacement. Feel for you whichever way you go Lxx
fri3ndly
No - not unless they're insane. Noted. Thanks for input and opinions
