Sharpie
Hi, I have been looking through the search entries but, have not found the answer to my question. I have a stock 95 UK TT Auto with 86k miles. I feel the stock set-up is OK but, I have not driven anything to compare with it but, I would like to remove some of the body roll but, not at the expense of ride quality, it’s firm enough for my liking. Can I just change out the springs to something like the Eibachs ? Lowering the car for looks is not my main concern but, do not want to lower it and then encounter ride height problems when I want to put the HKS Super Dragger/Hiper on very soon afterwards. I don’t really want to replace the whole suspension, as my funds will not go that far. Thanks for any advice.

Unfortunately the UK spec car is prone to suspension problems around the 60K mark usually in the form of leaking front shocks. In the first instance I would get someone in the know to check out the shocks.

Nothing has changed, it's just that I wanted to make things a little tighter now that I am getting used to it. I would have thought that if the shocks had a problem then they would have raised it at the B service. Dealers always find something wrong with your car and advise to get it changed but, only the front brake pads this time. (I had planned for this anyway) They could have missed it, but as I say, I do not have any issues with it at the moment, it's just I would prefer to make it tighter. I hope this helps. Okay but keep a regular check on them because mine went within a month of the last service and they are prone to problem.
eyefi
u might be able to "tighten it up" with swaybars and bushes, these tend to be less intrusive on ride quality. it all depends exactly what u mean by tighten up, does it handle badly or do u just not like the sensation of the body roll. theres always a trade off between comfort and performance. try to find someone with the sports pack suspension, and have a try in that. its good for the money (if yr budget is tight), but a little firmer ride than the jspec standard susp (which is not soft). I have developed a kit using custom valved Koni shocks and custom progressively wound springs to do JUST what you require. I also reset all the geometry to take advantage of the set up. 1200 quid fitted. A few people on the list have it, and are seemingly extremely pleased with it.
