Urgent help with UK (de)cat...

Hi all,

I've got an MOT tomorrow - need to get it sorted urgently, as I'm providing the entertainment at Suprapod. When I bought my car it was decatted. It's MOT time now, and homer kindly lent me a 2nd cat to assist with this. I was going to chop the decat in two, weld a couple of flanges on, and bingo.

What I didn't realise was that the UK spec has what looks like a second oxygen sensor (admittedly I haven't pulled it out yet, but searches say the UK has two). The cat Homer lent me doesn't have this, so this presents me with a problem.

What do I do? Leaving it out is obviously going to affect emissions (otherwise why have it?), but if I don't get this MOT sorted, I'm stuffed!!

Regards,

Scott

Sorry mate, I had no idea the 2nd sensor was in the 2nd decat

If you want to botch it into the cat feel free to do so, strip the shielding off if you need it's not important. Can always get it patched afterwards.

Thanks Darryl, I'd really need a flange welding on to make it gas tight though I guess. Would make it easy to patch, but might be a bit of a mission to get sorted tomorrow given the sort of looks I got after seeing you when trying to find some exhaust flanges ;)
